Functional and neurochemical evidence suggests significant GABA participation in the basomedial hypothalamus. We have investigated electrophysiological effects of GABA using in vitro recording from hypothalamic tissue slices. Exogenous GABA inhibited 94 out of 121 ventromedial hypothalamic (VMN) neu
