β¦ Synopsis
The present study examined the validity of the Preference Test (PT), a questionnaire that intends to measure the extent to which subjects rely on right-hemisphere and left-hemisphere cognitions. Normal subjects (N Ο 20) completed the PT and were then assigned to a group with a relatively strong preference for left-hemisphere cognitions or a group with a relatively strong preference for right-hemisphere cognitions. Next, background EEG was recorded. Subjects with a preference for right-hemisphere cognitions were found to display relatively more a power over the left than over the right frontal areas, compared to subjects with a preference for left-hemisphere cognitions. This finding provides partial support for the validity of the PT.
