✦ Synopsis

The title compound, C~22~H~28~N~2~O~6~, prepared by a condensation reaction between 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzaldehyde and ethylenediamine, acts as an important precursor for the synthesis of Schiff base complexes. The molecule is located on a centre of inversion with one half-molecule in the asymmetric unit. Both C=N double bonds are in a trans configuration.
