✦ Synopsis

ABSTRACT

This article explores the experience of midwifery students who provided gynecologic and/or antepartum/postpartum care to women in the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility, a maximum‐security facility for women in New York State. Care was provided for periods of time ranging from 2–4 months. During their clinical placement, students observed that additional primary care and health education issues fell within the scope of their clinical and teaching capabilities.
