โฆ Synopsis
BTRON is a sub-project of the TRON-project. In BTRON, an operating system architecture and a man-machine interface are developed for high performance workstations. In this paper, BTRON functions are described which are of particular interest in educational applications.
The BTRON-project has the following objectives:
(1) standardization of man-machine interfaces of various manufacturers;
(2) ensuring compatibility of data and operational procedures in application programs; and
(3) providing multiple character sets. BTRON-based machines are now under development and are being tested to certify that stated objectives and functional specifications are met. The results of the BTRON-project will be of much value in the design of educational applications.
