β¦ Synopsis
Editors' preface
This volume, dedicated to our teacher, Professor Sumiyasu Yamamoto, consists of a collection of fifteen papers on the theory of design experiments and related topics. What we have tried to do here is to bring together a collection of both survey and research papers which reflect a large portion of current research on the subject. They cover such areas as the progress made to date on combinatorial aspects in the fields of block designs, fractional factorial designs, robustness and optimality of designs, error-correcting codes, graphs and analysis of variance of designs. As these are rapidly developing areas, up-to-date information is essential. The majority of the papers present original findings. Each paper suggests certain challenging problems for further research and includes an extensive list of references. Collaborative efforts led to the choice of proper topics.
