โฆ Synopsis
In the inaugural issue of Cancer and Metastasis Reviews, we expressed our hopes that this series would become recognized for excellence and timely, concise, and authoritative reviews of ongoing and emerging topics in cancer biology in general, and cancer metastasis in particular. Our expectations have all been met, and so our role as the Founding Editors is nearing its end.
During the last decade, our understanding of the processes of neoplastic heterogeneity, tumor progression, and invasion and metastasis has advanced considerably. New and powerful techniques have been rapidly developed; by them, we have uncovered some of the mysteries that regulate these once mysterious processes, and Cancer and Metastasis Reviews, will continue to reflect these advances in our knowledge.
Beginning with the next issue, Cancer and Metastasis Reviews will be edited by our colleagues and friends, Philip Frost, Russell Greig, and Robert Kerbel, whose expertise and contributions to the field are well recognized. This new generation of enthusiastic and capable editors will assure that the journal continues to serve the scientific community, providing a forum for reviews on advances in our knowledge of cancer biology. We give the new editors our enthusiastic support and will do our utmost to assure the continued success of the journal. Our last task as Editors is a pleasant one. We thank the members of the Editorial Board for their generous help in selecting the outstanding contributors to the journal. We thank all the contributors for excellent reviews, each requiring an enormous investment of time. We thank Mr. Jeffrey K. Smith, Director of Kluwer Academic Publishers, for unyielding support. Last, but not least, we thank the readers of Cancer and Metastasis Reviews, without whom the journal would not be worth publishing. We urge you to continue your most appreciated support of the journal under its new leadership.
