Publishing a special issue that includes only review articles became a beneficial tradition of the Journal of Separation Science. Since 2005, this annual issue collects on average 15 papers written by renowned scientists who distill their deep knowledge of a relatively narrow field to a limited number of pages densely packed with knowledge. Obviously, those who are interested in quick information and just try to be "in" find these reviews very helpful. They do not need to open the Scifinder or browse through mountains of copies of relevant papers. Authors of our reviews are doing this work for us: Quickly and efficiently! One may argue: "What if I need a complete info?" Well, then the review is a convenient launch pad for digging deeper in the treasures of the original literature. Thus, this special issue is a win-win situation for both sides.
