✦ Synopsis

Editorial: Introduction of Dr. C-K. Chouö2006 d' Arsonval Awardee

It is my honor and privilege to introduce the 10th d'Arsonval award recipient, Dr. Chung-Kwang Chou. The award is the Bioelectromagnetics society's highest recognition of scientific excellence in our field of study. Dr. Chou, or C-K as most people know him, has been a member of the society since its inception and he has attended all 28 annual meetings. During this time he has contributed to the understanding of radio-frequency (RF) biological effects, RF dosimetry, and exposure systems, hyperthermia, as well as electrochemical treatment of cancer. He may be best known for his work on the auditory effect of RF exposure, but some 180 peer-reviewed papers map out a broad range of interests and accomplishments. In addition to his direct research work, Dr. Chou serves and has served on scientific advisory groups ranging from BEMS board and this journal's editorial board, to a number of IEEE committees shaping the current exposure standards. He is a fellow of IEEE and of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering.
