โฆ Synopsis
This special issue of Electrophoresis is on "CE and CEC Innovations" to provide the reader with the latest breakthrough and improvements in capillary electrophoresis (CE) and capillary electrochromatography (CEC) techniques. "CE and CEC Innovations" is a yearly issue, which will appear every year in summer with a deadline for paper submission on March 1 of each year. In fact, this special issue is the sixth in the series of "CE and CEC Innovations"; for the previous five issues, see Electrophoresis, Vols. 19 (No. 12), 20 (No. 12), 21 (No. 15), 22 (No. 12), and 23 (No. 17). This special issue starts with four contributions on fundamentals and methodologies (Part I). Part II is on electrokinetic capillary chromatography. Part III has five contributions dealing with various aspects of CEC. Miniaturization is currently an active theme of research and is represented by three research articles grouped in Part IV. Part V is on sample preconcentration and detection issues. Finally, the application of CE to lipopolysaccharides is the subject of Part VI of this special issue. As an editor of this special issue, I would like to thank all the contributors for their fine articles which will certainly impact the area of electrically driven microcolumn separations by providing a better understanding ofthe underlying phenomena and by widening the scope of their applications.
