## Abstract ## BACKGROUND. The 2002 American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) tumor classification for renal cell carcinoma (RCC) does not take into account concomitant venous invasion and extrarenal tumor extension (ERE). In the current study, the authors evaluated the prognostic significance of
