EDITORIAL COMMENT
I am delighted that Professor Dukelow accepted my invitation to comment on a century of progress in primatology. While his invited editorial focuses largely on reproductive biology, Dukelow also captures the atmosphere and personalities that helped to shape primatology. In his own career, through his research, education, and service, Dukelow has made unsurpassed contributions to American and international primatology. He was on the organizing committee for the establishment of ASP and served 14 consecutive years as an officer of ASP including the presidency. He is the well-deserved 1999 recipient of ASP's Distinguished Primatologist Award.
