Abstract
The motivation behind this special issue of Managerial and Decision Economics was twoβfold: First, the special issue offered the opportunity to reβconsider the huge contribution of Edith Penrose to the fields of strategy and economics. Second, it allowed us to present new research from both perspectives on the process of firm growth, an area pioneered by Penrose.
