✦ Synopsis

Abstract

The echo‐planar k‐space trajectory can be used as the basis for any two‐dimensional selective pulse. The main application is spectral‐spatial pulses, which must be based on the echoplanar trajectory. In this paper we show how echo‐planar spinecho (EPSE) pulses may be designed.

## Abstract In theory, multidimensional pulses can be designed to be selective in any number of dimensions. In practice, available gradient power has enforced a limit to two dimensions. We show here that three‐dimensional π pulses are feasible on commercial imaging machines provided that the range

Frequency-modulated rf pulses based on a linear frequency sweep are studied experimentally in spin-echo and stimulated-echo sequences. It turns out that these FM pulses generate a quadratic phase perpendicular to the selected slice and that the quadratic phases of the FM pulses in a spin-echo or sti

## Abstract ## Purpose: To compare the diagnostic accuracy of superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO)‐enhanced fluid‐attenuated inversion‐recovery echo‐planar imaging (FLAIR EPI) for malignant liver tumors with that of T2‐weighted turbo spin‐echo (TSE), T2\*‐weighted gradient‐echo (GRE), and diffusion

When performing measurements at elevated temperature, small convection currents may give rise to erroneous values of the diffusion coefficient. In work with high resolution NMR spectroscopy, the application of magnetic field gradients also introduces an eddy-current magnetic field which may result i
