Inserm UnitC 78, Bois-Guillaume Acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, itaconic acid and dimethylaminopropylmeth- acrylamide can easily be introduced in polyacrylamide gels in order to obtain reproducible immobilized pH gradients in the pH range 4-6. These acrylic derivatives are commercially available at a relatively low price.
