the lysis rate; deep venous thrombosis treated with heparin is commonly associated with a rise in the transaminase level; heparin does not increase the risk of bleeding when used in association with rtPA; and alternative dosing regimens and modes of administration of rtPA should be investigated to improve further its efficacy and safety in the treatment of acute deep venous thrombosis.
