✦ Synopsis
verbal fluency was markedly impaired with numerous paraphasias. Verbal short-term memory and verbal learning were severely impaired, with visual recall moderately defective. The severity of this patient's language deficits made it difficult for him to comprehend many of the test instructions, although alertness and mental stamina were intact, and nonverbal tasks were generally performed with ease.
