✦ Synopsis


The title compound, C 18 H 18 O 5 , was prepared by the condensation of 2-hydroxyacetophenone with 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzaldehyde. The trimethoxyphenyl and hydroxyphenyl rings of the chalcone system are approximately coplanar.
