L’existence de Candice bascule lorsqu’elle est agressée par un inconnu. Laissée pour morte, elle se réveille après des mois de coma et prend conscience que les relations avec sa famille et ses amies sont bouleversées. Que s’est-il passé durant cette période ? Peu après avoir quitté l’hôpital, sa voiture est percutée par un chauffard : accident ou tentative de meurtre ? La jeune femme devient-elle paranoïaque ou est-elle réellement en danger ? Avec l’aide de Rafael, le policier chargé de l’enquête, Candice va tenter de reconstituer le fil des événements, mais les doutes se multiplient et les certitudes se font rares. À qui se fier ? Elle comprend aussi que la menace est toujours là. Ce qui est certain, c’est que rien ne sera jamais plus comme avant.
