β¦ Synopsis
Optical properties of trivalent dysprosium doped lithium niobate crystal Dy:LiNbO 3 are investigated at various temperatures. Polarised absorption, emission and lifetime measurements have been performed. The Judd -Ofelt theory, extended to anisotropic system, has been applied to evaluate the intensity parameters (V 2 ; V 4 ; V 6 ), radiative transition rates A r ; radiative lifetimes t r ; and branching ratios b: The predicted values of t r is compared with the experimental value for the 4 F 9/2 fluorescent level. Lifetimes and fluorescence dynamics were examined as a function of temperature and concentration of Dy 3ΓΎ ions.

## Abstract A series of Zn:In:Fe:LiNbO~3~ crystals were prepared by Czochralski method. The crystal composition and defect structure were analyzed by ICPβOE/MS, UVβvis and IR spectroscopy. The results show that with increasing In^3+^ doping concentration in melt, the segregation coefficients of bot
The elaboration of Yba+-doped LiNbO 3 : Sc 3+ and LiNbO 3 : Mg 2+ single crystal fibers by the laser heated pedestal growth technique is reported. The ytterbium emission and absorption cross-sections are given. We show that it is possible to obtain the coincidence between the wavelength of phase-mat
