In this Special Issue we publish some of the papers presented there.
The conference papers were wide-ranging due to the variety of work being carried out in the field of dyslexia. In the usual vein of this journal's policy, selections for publication were made following the principle that all submissions must be, in the words of Tim Miles, 'good of their kind, -papers can be good for many different reasons'.
