Abstract
In the present work we study the dynamics and conformational properties of polyampholytes (PAs, polymers containing positive and negative charges) in the presence of external electrical fields. In terms of the Rouse Model of polymer dynamics we obtain for PAs in the soβcalled weak coupling limit explicitly the mean square displacement both of the center of mass and of individual beads, and the PAs' endβtoβend distance. We study both ordered and also random charge distributions along the chains; in the latter case we also consider the role of different correlation lengths.
