✦ Synopsis

This paper presents a modified and extended iterative method for determining the response of building frames to the dynamic loads and the consequent forces induced in the frame members. This procedure takes into account the different individual joint rotations, instead of assuming them equal [1]. The proposed method can be applied with the aid of a desk calculator or small computers and is especially suitable for the practising design engineers. Numerical examples are presented and the results are compared with those obtained from other methods [2,3].
