✦ Synopsis
Uniflex offers leak-free operation
Uniflex Nicholson Steam Trap of Walden, New York is offering a free working sample of its Uniflex Union to give everyone the opportunity to see for themselves how it works.
The Uniflex is claimed to provide leak-free operation and one-third the downtime required to replace conventional unions. Uniflex gaskets provide a guaranteed leak-tight seal equivalent to flange gaskets, and Uniflex can be used wherever flanges are acceptable, the company says.
Once installed, Uniflex remains in the system for the life of the piping. Making and breaking connections simply requires replacement of the gasket, which it is claimed can save hundreds of hours of labour every year. In addition, the Uniflex 'zero clearance' fit means that there is no need to spring pipes apart as with standard unions. New equipment may be easily installed with one new male or female end, since Uniflex does not require matched sets to achieve the seal.
