✦ Synopsis


A no¨el design of a slotted triangular microstrip antenna for dual-frequency operation is proposed and experimentally studied. By embedding an in¨erted V-shaped slot close to the ¨ertex of a triangular microstrip patch, dual-frequency operation of the microstrip antenna can be achie¨ed using an inset microstrip-line feed. The two operating frequencies ha¨e parallel polarization planes and broadside radiation characteristics. Also, the frequency ratio, in the range 1.37᎐1.59, of the two frequencies can be controlled by the length of the embedded slot. Details of the obtained dual-frequency performances are presented and discussed.
