## Abstract A dual‐frequency rectangular microstrip antenna with a pair of π‐shaped narrow slots close to the nonradiating edges of the patch is experimentally studied. By varying the length and spacing of the two arms of each π‐shaped slot, the proposed antenna provides a tunable frequency ratio f

✦ Synopsis
A no¨el design of a double-ring microstrip antenna with dual-frequency operation is presented in this paper. The frequency ratio ( ) FR depends on the radii of the inner and outer rings. Besides the ¨oltage feed line couples to the outer rings, the current coupling between these two rings is introduced. Experimental results are presented and discussed.

## A no¨el dual-frequency design of a single-layer, single-feed circular microstrip antenna with an open-ring slot s demonstrated. The open-ring slot is embedded close to the boundary of the circular patch, and has a small spacing between the two open ends of the slot. By selecting suitable widths o
