On the basis of the behavioral study, the author suggests (in the fifth part) a variety of measures aimed at preventing collisions between unprotected road-users and vehicles. Somewhat unclear is the audience the author has in mind for her recommendations, which range from the general need to provide driver-training teachers with more instruction on unprotected road-users to the specific point to see to it that school bus stops are not hidden by vegetation. If these measures were incorporated into the planning and design process of urban streets, as many have been in Stevenage, England, future accidents may well be reduced.
