method combined with the modified matrix pencil (MMP) method. The computational time of the FDTD method can be reduced to 30% by the MMP method. Our numerical simulation shows that the intrinsic passband at the harmonic band is suppressed for this low-pass microstrip filter with the UC-EBG structure in the ground plane.
