✦ Synopsis

It is sorry one has to write on persons like THIENEMANN and HUBER-PESTALOZZI when one is confined to a very limited space . There is so much to say about GOTTFRIED HUBER-PESTALOZZI who celebrated his 80th birthday on the 31st of March 1957 . Such a rich and beautiful life like he had and such a lively spirit are a great exception.

Born in 1877 as the son of a teacher in Ennenda, Kanton Glarus, Switzerland, he completed primary school in his birthplace and college in Glarus and Frauenfeld ; he went to the University of Lausanne. From there he proceeded to Zurich to study natural history . After three years he got his M .A. degree of natural history, esp . zoology and comparative anatomy .

He made a dissertation on a limnological subject concerned with the Montiggler-lakes and took his doctor's degree at the University of Zurich in 1904 .

Then he changed his mind and started medical studies at the same university, becoming a physician in 1909 . After some years of assistanceship he went to Paris, Berlin and Vienna and specialized urology .
