✦ Synopsis
Aristo Graphic Systeme showed the Aristomat gasket cutter. This is a digital seal stamping system where the cutter is controlled directly by a PC-based CAD system. It is capable of cutting difficult materials such as perforated sheet metal, as well as graphite and asbestos substitutes. Punch forms are also not required with this machine.
Research in the field of sealing technology was demonstrated on the stand of the Institute of Machine Components (IMA) at the university in Stuttgart. A particularly effective demonstration was the comparison of two different designs of labyrinth for machine tool spindles.
In order to really be considered as an international fair, the show probably still has to make a little progress. The technical forum was limited to German and the presenters had to compete in an open hall with the background noise of jet cutting machines and other demonstrations. The organizers were extremely reticent to provide a list of exhibitors. It was in fact posted on the website at the end of the week before the show, but buried in exhibitor information rather than being listed in that for visitors. The cynical observer could perhaps be forgiven for associating this reticence with the absence of probably the five or six largest German and 12 or 15 largest worldwide seal manufacturers.
