β¦ Synopsis
When Elizabeth Bennet visits her dear friend, Charlotte, at Rosings Park, her expectations of the visit are low.
There is Charlotteβs new husband, Mr Collins, to endure, as well as the proud and haughty Lady Catherine de Bourgh.
Her Ladyship makes an announcement: her daughter, Anne, is to marry her nephew, the detestable Mr Darcy.
While Elizabeth cares nothing for Mr Darcyβs happiness β after all, he separated her sister Jane from her true love, Mr Bingley, and was the ruin of poor Mr Wickham β she is dismayed to see the soft, tender look that is
exchanged between Anne and Colonel Fitzwilliam.
Elizabeth slowly befriends Anne, and her instincts prove correct: Anne and the Colonel are indeed in love, but cannot defy Lady Catherine.
Elizabethβs opinion of Mr Darcy is lowered, once more. How can he enter into an engagement with a woman he does not love, on top of all the other things that he has done?
Mr Darcy feels compelled to justify his decisions to Elizabeth Bennet, although he hardly knows why.
But she refuses to listen to him. It is only after intervening in the scandal of Lydia and Wickham that Elizabeth finally starts to think that he might be a man of worth.
But it is all too lateβ¦his wedding to Anne is fast approaching.
It seems that all the lovers must be eternally separatedβ¦unless someone has the courage to stand up and stop it, once and for all.
