โœฆ Synopsis

The problem of gradient zone-boundary migration in solar ponds has been investigated. Models based on thermal burst stability theory and microconvection theory of boundary undulation and temperature modulation have been considered. Computational results of solutions for stability problem of the double diffusive interface are presented for an extended range of salinity gradient (1-1OOOOkgm-) and examined with empirical correlations as well as experimental data. The results indicate that the erosion or growth of the gradient zone at the interface is a strong function of the ratio of diffusivities T and density stability ratio R,.
