Abstract

In this work we study theoretically the tunability of a double‐cavity Fabry–Pérot multilayer structure composed of porous silicon mirrors and liquid crystal cavities. By means of the anisotropic Transfer Matrix Method we analyze changes on wavelength and transmission of two resonant frequencies within the stop band. Tuning is achieved by allowing different orientations of the LC optical axes within the cavities, while keeping the optical axes parallel to the layers. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
