Unscheduled DNA synthesis (UDS) has been shown to be saturated above a threshold dose of UV-C in human fibroblasts in vitro. We have investigated by autoradiography whether a similar saturation occurs in human skin in vivo with UV-B and whether this phenomenon correlates with the erythemal response.
