Abstract
The spectrophotometric determination of traces of Ce^4+^ and Ti^3+^ in the presence of respectively large excesses of Ce^3+^ (≤ 10^–1^ M) and Ti^4+^ (≤ 10^−1^ M), is described.
Indirect methods are elaborated for both ions. The reaction of Ce^4+^ with an excess of Fe^2+^ gives an equivalent amount of Fe^3+^ which can be determined with thiocyanate. The determination of the not reacted Fe^2+^ with o‐phenanthroline is also possible. The reaction of Ti^3+^ with an excess of Fe^3+^ gives an equivalent amount of Fe^2+^ which can be determined with o‐phenanthroline.

## Abstract The NMR. spectra of a serie of β‐hydroxyesters have been studied. It has been found that the methylene protons are magnetically nonequivalent only when the substituents on the center of asymmetry of I or II are very different. The magnetically non‐equivalence of the isopropylmethylproto
