## Abstract A tunable erbium‐doped fiber ring laser was made using a tunable side‐polished fiber (SPF) filter with a tapered planar waveguide (PWG). The thickness of the tapered PWG varied because it slides laterally on the side‐polished region. The proposed SPF filter does not need additional phys
