✦ Synopsis

No one should have to wait until December for a dose of holiday cheer! Meet Abby Turner and Bess Riley.
Abby Turner is a dedicated nurse and mother who spent her life in New York City until the death of her longtime partner, Connie. Abby’s adjusting to a new, quieter life in suburban Connecticut. Most days she finds the change refreshing. With her children grown and still living in the city, life can be lonely. That changes when a young boy named Liam chases his dog Donegal into her yard.

The last thing Bess Riley expected was raising a child in her fifties. Bess gains custody of her grandson, Liam, after the death of her son. Bess leaves behind her teaching career and her home in Queens for a fresh start in the quiet town of Weston, Connecticut. She’s barely unpacked when Liam and his dog disappear from the yard. Her panic is relieved when Liam calls from Abby’s phone.

Thanks to Donegal’s escape, Abby and Bess begin a new friendship. Both women have learned to expect the unexpected. The last thing either considered was falling in love. Liam tells Abby’s son, Doug, that Donegal has one wishβ€”the chance to be part of a family. As the holidays approach, Abby and Bess explore the wonders of friendship, love, and family. Can they make room for something new? Will Donegal get his wish? Spend a few hours with Abby, Bess, Liam, Donegal, and their colorful family and friends, and remember that it doesn’t need to be a holiday to fall in love.
