Hot-water consumption for shacks in the developing communities of Johannesburg was determined from measurements taken over a period of one year. Data are presented on the average consumption per person per day for the different months of the year. Also, hourly hot-water consumptions per person per day as functions of summer weekdays, summer weekends, winter weekdays and winter weekends are given.
