A disappointing book which fails to live up to its billing in either the introduction or the dedication. It opens with a clear if over wordy introduction to the underlying physics of accident reconstruction. Even so, in my experience, tyrelroad friction is not speed dependent on dry roads as the authors, in common with others in the USA, claim. The evidence for their claim that tyrelroad friction is also weight dependent is partial and unconvincing. To complicate matters even further, the authors have chosen to use slugs, feet, pounds and seconds as their units, probably the least familiar system of all on this side of the Atlantic.
