โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

Neuroblasts and neurons of the human cerebellum and spinal cord from the eighth fetal week to 68 years of age were prepared as smears and the DNA content of individual cells was measured by Feulgen cytophotometry and microfluorometry. DNA constancy of large and small neurons as well as neuroblasts was confirmed by the two methods. These findings accord with autoradiographic observation that neuroblasts, once differentiated from matrix cells, do not synthesize DNA.
