Casein kinase I and II (CK I and CK II) are spontaneously active messenger-independent ubiquitous Ser/Thrspecific protein kinases. Their name is derived from their preference for casein and phosvitin as in vitro substrates. They can be differentiated from each other by a number of features: in contr
