Trends DMFC with mixed reactant/air anode
The performance of a PEM DMFC with aqueous methanol and air mixed at the anode is compared with aqueous methanol only. The mixed methanol reactant/air fed anode DMFC offers superior performance to the conventional methanol-only fed anode DMFC, apparently due to higher liquid saturation in the anode diffusion layer and faster removal of CO 2 at the anode.
