Gene libraries of the micronucleus and the macronuclear anlagen of the polytene chromosome stage of Stylonychia Iemnae were screened for internal C4A~ repeats. The number of these internal repeats was shown to be identical in both kinds of nuclei. Analysis of macronuclear sequences associated with C
