Abstract
The distortion of a square pulse wave with a finite rise time in edge‐coupled microstrip lines is investigated. These microstrip lines are assumed to be fabricated on a single‐layer low‐temperature co‐fired ceramic (LTCC) substrate which has excellent high‐frequency performance. Parametric studies are performed to show the effects of different physical parameters of the strips and LTCC substrate on the distortion of the propagated pulse waveform, where the effects of the substrate as well as ohmic losses on the pulse‐wave propagation are treated appropriately. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
