✦ Synopsis
Dissociative electron attachment to CF,I yields the negatively charged fragments I-, F-, CF;, and FI-. From the energetics a value of > 1.0 * 0.2 eV is derived for the electron affinity of FL The process leading to CF; is such that at threshold all of the total excess energy appears as kinetic energy of the dissociation products.
