We present a method of proving the asymptotic completeness of wave operators associated with the scattering of a quantum particle in a field of classical particles with long-range interactions, based on some propagation estimates of the type recently developed in the theory of N-body systems. The approach allows us to treat a class of dispersive systems where the free Hamiltonian has the form ลฝ .
