✦ Synopsis

Abstract

The dispersion relations for magnons in NiF~2~ are calculated using the recently available values of the exchange constants [1] and the selection rules for two magnon electric and magnetic dipole absorption are deduced. The dispersion curves are found to exhibit the symmetry predicted by Joshua and Cracknell [2].
