The effects of dispersion on the performance of finite-length grating-assisted output couplers dri¨en by ultrafast pulses are studied. Two different FDTD formulations of Lorentz dispersion are treated, and both dispersi¨e wa¨eguides and grating teeth are considered. The impact of dispersion on the output beams is quantified.
