Abstract
Dislocations at and near the planar interface between two anisotropic media are considered. It is shown that the energy factor for a dislocation at the interface can be expressed simply in terms of the K‐matrices for the two media. The K‐matrix is defined so that E=(1/2)b~i~K~ij~b~j~ where E is energy factor and the b~j~ are the components of Burgers vector. It is also shown that the force on a dislocation in one of the media and parallel with the interface is simply given in terms of the energy factor for the dislocation in that medium and the energy factor for the interface dislocation.
