## Abstract **BACKGROUND:** Avenanthramides, health‐beneficial phenols in oats, are produced in response to incompatible races of the crown rust fungus, __Puccinia coronata__, in seedlings of greenhouse‐grown oats. This study aimed to elucidate whether avenanthramides and/or other phenolic compound
